The functionality of the O8 Outdoor CPE depends on application.
1. Bridging Buildings Together
At least two O8 antennas are needed to bridge your internet connection with other buildings. One O8 connects to the main router/switch while the others connect to a receiving router/switch. The main antenna transmits a wireless signal, and the receiving antennas pick it up. The signal is then fed to the receiving router and broadcasted throughout a barn, office, home, etc. For optimal performance, the CPEs must point at each other.
2. Long-Range CCTV Surveillance
At least two O8 antennas are needed to share your internet with distant cameras. One O8 connects to the main router/switch while the others connect to the cameras. The main antenna transmits a wireless signal, and the receiving antennas pick it up. The signal is then fed to the surveillance cameras for constant uptime. For optimal performance, the CPEs must point at each other.
3. Internet Access via Wireless ISP
For this scenario, only one antenna is needed. You'd install the O8 on your roof, point it at a WISP station/hotspot, and connect it to your router. The CPE will wirelessly communicate with WISP stations located up to 12.5 miles away, providing you with reliable internet access.
